When we men categorize women, we’re honestly not being demeaning; that’s just the way we think. Men think in categories more than women do.
A common example is colors—men might look at grass and an evergreen tree and say that they’re the same color (green), whereas women might look at grass and an evergreen tree and say that they’re two different colors (one darker green and one lighter green). Both views are correct in their own ways—they’re just two different ways of looking at it.
I can’t get into the neurology of it here, but that’s just how we men are—our brains are much more compartmentalized than women’s are.
